After losing 90% of my vision, and having recovered from the 11 surgeries, I started to think about what I could do and where I would direct my career. On the one hand I felt a huge desire, I knew that my qualities and strengths were still here, however I was not sure that society would see that. Usually, we see the percentage of disability that someone has, so what about the capacity? That was when I started giving speeches, writing children's books, and later give formation. Despite being happy with what I had built, going back to my area and doing a job for which I studied, with a bachelor's and master's degree, it was still important, even to feel that they value me for what I am. Argo was the recruiting company that saw me for my capabilities. All the people I spoke to were always very professional, at the same time that they treated me with all kindness, and did their best to find me a position that made sense.
In fact, I believe that people with a disability should have opportunities and be looked at for their added value and abilities. In my case, I may not see so well, but my ability to analyze, think, find solutions, define strategies and manage, has not been diminished. I believe that one day we will have equal recruitment processes for people with or without disabilities, not least because all of us in a transversal way we are more or less capable in some subject, task or situation. I also believe that Argo will be part of all of this.
For companies, I ask you not to be afraid, because, as I mentioned, we all have challenges in some way, the important thing is to understand the determination and whether the candidate's qualities are suitable for the place. For people with disabilities, you should not be afraid or doubt of our qualities. Be aware that we all have challenges, and that they are often our greatest strength and that ultimately everything depends on our willpower and determination.
To Argo and the whole team without exception, congratulations for the excellence in your work, the determination and the care with which you do it.
